Hooking up Water temp gauge

Hey I saw the pics where you drill a hole to the water pump and put the sender there. Howerver I'd likely screw up something so I don't wanna do that. I heard some people ran a "T" hose somewhere.
My question is which hose is it and how do I tightnen the sender there?
If you had any pics it would be great.
Thanks!

Some people put a pipe insert into the upper radiator hose. That piece has a threaded hole for the sender to go into. It is a quick and easy method, however, it will report the same temperature if your thermostat fails or not. So, its not an ideal method, but does the job.
