hood latch assembly

Is there a different in the hood latch assembly for aluminum hood and steel hood???

I am getting confuse..some say "yes" and some say "no"

from what i saw with my tii parts car and my 87 base model yes, they are different because there is a weight or something on the latch but it dont make a difference from what i could tell. i tried both on my car with the tii hood.

I think the main difference is the spring...the alloy hood requiring a lighter one, obviously.
Functionally, it doesn't seem to matter.
