Home Depot BOV

Home Depot BOV

i took out my TID just for ***** and giggle to find that there was a big CRACK in it. hmmm...time to replace it. well since i am replacing that with a Home Depot TID i will need to do the Home Depot BOV too because i cant vent it back into the system using the new TID. please link me to a writeup for the home depot BOV so i can get my car back on the road...thanks

PS dont flame me cause im doing it the Home Depot way...i cant afford REAL parts...im 17...have a part time job working on computers, and i go to school...and i have a 7....once again i cant afford REAL parts...haha

You CAN vent it back before the compressor. Get a 3/4" heater hose fitting, drill a hole in the ABS and thread it in tight. done. OR. To answer your question, if you want to vent the BOV to the atmosphere you need a 3/4" check valve (check the lawn sprinkler section) some 3/4 inch HIGH HEAT rubber heater hose and adapt the check valve so that when there is no boost it is closed and when it vents it opens. Hope this helps. I was 17 when I did this mod too

well tomorrow...being thanksgiving...i have to be with the family so...friday ill head to home depot and get my TID and my BOV stuff...a total of like 20 bucks....

I think my TID is cracked too...post up what you got from Home Depot and let me know...I may need to follow your lead on this one...lol..that is, until I decide to get off my lazy *** and make a SS one...

Why not? Just get a 3/4" hose barb and screw it into your TID. Seal it, then connect up the bypass valve.

im going off that TID...and i might just get a BOV from a first gen DSM...my friend has one that i could borrow since his car doest work...then ill order another one for him. hmmm...the possibilities


or i could hook it into my new TID...depends how i feel in the morning
