holy shi*t, omp, i hate you

just read a post about how the s5 ecu won't work correctly unless a omp is hooked up to it. is this also true for the s5 t2 ecu? do i need to find a omp!?

you need it plugged in if you remove the omp system, or it will spit codes.

The S5 OMP uses a stepper motor actuator coupled with a position sensor.

The ECU freaks if the position sensor fails to answer or if the stepper shorts or opens.

ive already block off the omp spot, can i just hook up an omp and strap it somewhere?

Yes. Some people do that. Or just put it back on and avoid the problem...

will there be a difference with it bolted to the front cover with it connected to the ecu as opposed to it being held somewhere else connected up?

lets say i bolt it to the front cover, can i just use... 10mm?... bolts to plug the holes?
