HKS twin power and Air flow meter question.

Has anyone used a HKS twin power? Are they any good?

Also whats the limits of the sock air flow meter? Is there another air flow meter that people use on higher bhp setups?

Thanks guys.

HKS twinpower thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/hks-twin-power-vs-msd-6a-etc-762225/ . For high power setups it's worth it IMO. It basically solved all my ignition problems.

stock airflow meter... highest dynos I have seen are in the low to mid 300s. At that point it is certainly a restriction but I can't recall anyone having data of "maxing" it out physically. What often happens is that to make more power than that, you have to get 1680cc secondary injectors. And to control those decently you need to switch to a standalone that ditches the AFM anyway.

No help on the hks.

There really isn't a replacement airflow meter for these cars like there is for alot of Nissans and what not. The stock ecu isn't reprogrammable so your only options are a piggy back or Rtek 2.X. Both of these can reach adequate numbers. Most who are going for good power though, go to a standalone such as a Power FC, Haltech, etc. All of these options toss the AFM in favor of a MAP sensor based system.

So its in the same scenario as my mr2 turbo then convert to map sensors to get the power I want. Presume its a 3 bar map sensor and additional bit of loom to setup then?

The only reason I ask about the twin power is cos I saw a few threads about higher power out put and needing to change coils and all sorts to get the best out of the setup.
