HKS T04R questions and concerns....

i made a thread previously about installing a T04R on my car, i cant find it to bump it so i made another....

i have 720cc secondaries and was wondering what kind of boost i'm able to run keeping those secondaries for the time being....

also....

it's on an S4 keg with S5 externals, i have an HKS PFC FCON currently and am still running the stock maf ( obviously ), since it's basically bottle necking the turbo can i still run the T04R through the stock maf on low boost settings?...

thanx in advance, as always....

Off topic a bit, but how do you like your GTX. I just bought a 1991 GTX , what kind of shape did it come in?

to be honest, i wouldnt even bother bolting it one untill you have the propper supporting mods. Im sure you could run an easy 5 psi, but at that, i dont know you would be making much power at all.

dude, dont put it on. 550s and 720s are no match for a TO4R. you need to move those 720s to primaries.

i dont know, i was wondering if on the 720cc's i could run a modest 8psi or something small like that, this way i could throw on the T04R, not run much boost and eventually put bigger secondaries in there with a stand alone....

by the sounds of it, it's not even worth my time?...

what about the MAF, how much would it bottle neck the T04R?...

^ MAF and T04R(any big single turbo really) should never be in the same sentence.

just get some larger injectors and wait for a stand alone.

better to wait and do it right once rather than do it twice and then some.

T04R is a good sized turbo. That's bigger than a BNR stage 4. Your car will be a lot better on stock turbo than on a halfassed T04R setup. You can do at least 250rwhp with a lot more response on the stock turbo, while a low-boost T04R will just feel laggy with no top end.

3" is good for the TO4R. What size is your compressor wheel? That what really matters, since it's got the biggest hand in the airflow equation. There are a few guys who run a 4" exhaust. Doesn't really make more power, but brings the power curve farther to the left.

that turbo will destroy your engine very quickly.

don't put it on until you have the fuel (720 primaries/1680 secondaries) to support it, and the EMS to support the fuel!)

it will be really difficult to make 5psi on a stockport with that turbo... that's right in the lower surge limit, and I'm sure that 8psi on that turbo you're probably flowing enough air that you're near the limits of that fuel.

by saying that turbo would destroy my engine very quickly are you talking about on a stock block or trying to even run 5psi or such with 720cc secondaries?...

i plan on having full fuel system and stand alone done now before i put it on....

ohhh, the stock block is very stout.... you won't have issues there, the issues are with trying to run 5psi on such a gargantuan turbo on near stock fuel

Once you get the upgrades in place to support it, strap that bad boy on!
