HKS pfc fcon & GCCII

Hi there, when I bought the car these two items came with it..but there are hesitations around 3000 rpm and 5500+ rpm. The car seems to choke in the higher ranges and just hesitates in the lower rpms.
My question is if you guys think the GCC wasn't tuned properly causing these sorts of problems. And is it possible for me to just unhook the GCC harness and let the FCON go by itself then take the car for a few runs to see if the improper fine tuning of the GCC is the factor.
This is my first time having to deal with this system and I'm not familiar with them so please bear with me because I'm willing to learn.
Or if I am completely off on what the true problem is please let me know.
Thanks!

I would help if I could but I am in the same boat as you. No experience with these systems.

Yes you can unhook the HKS GCC and run on the F-CON only..it will help in narrowing down your problem...but i will check to see if your HKS boost cut defenser is set up correctly first....if it is the old style with a dial **** you will have to mark where it is set at start tuning from there either clockwise or counter clockwise increment turns...i use to have the voltage specs so you will not have to test drive after each adjustment if i find i will post it up soon....i will also take the cover off the F-CON and see what the settings are ....there are certain switches that should be turned on and off and certain # values as well...i should have the spec sheet on that as well....and post up soon
peace

I use to run the HKS FCon on my 88 Turbo, however, it went bad and caused all sorts of fuel injection nightmares for me. I have now gone to a FCD mounted in engine bay, and the Apexi S-AFC.. I do have to say the S-AFC is one sweet unit. I highly recommend it! It offers a much better way to properly tune the car vs the FCON, I realize its not as good as a stand alone ecu, but for the money it offers great tunning options for your fuel curve. I'm also running 720cc in the secondaries and its working great for me now.

As for the FCON, the dial setting inside the computer was on number 5 when I bought it. the lower the number, the leaner the mixture, I believe 0 is very similar to stock fuel curve. As for the other swithces in the FCon, i never messed with them. Depending on mods, I would recommend a S-AFC and 720cc in secondaries.
