HIgh RPM stumble..what causes it and how do I fix it?

when I go past 6 RPM my car staarts to sound like a popcorn machine. This is a 90 GTU. It's like the VDI comes on then when think i got power it drops off like a cliff. help please.

That sounds like detonation to me. Make sure your fuel flow is up to par, your timing is set correctly, your TPS is adjusted, and you might want to go a grade or two higher with the fuel you buy.

Lemme try some grounding and my new o2 sensor when it comes in. Hopefully that's the fix *fingers crossed*
