High RPM/low power help
I drive an 87 TII (130k miles) with the TB mod, airpump and BAC removed, EGR left on, and no exhaust past the pre-cat. The exhaust I'm going to fix soon, a broken flange prevents me from using the stock at the moment.
Now when I really punch the throttle my rpms will shoot up pretty quickly but I won't get a whole lot of power out of it. If it's doing this and I back off the throttle a little bit I feel the car start to get power under the pedal.
What is causing this? I would assume it's a worn clutch or something to do with the transmission. Could it possibly have anything to do with my rear end as well? I'm really lost as to what this is for sure.

That's what I figured. I thought it was either clutch or flywheel. Sounds like the rex is down for some drivetrain work soon. Anyone have a suggestion for a good new clutch?

Cheap price is the CenterForce dual friction. However if you can a get a cheap ACT or Bonez (which is made by Exedy) then go for one of them. If you can spare the dough, you'd also like a light weight flywheel. I loved mine.
