high RPM hesitation and a strange brake caliper

whenever i start pushing past about 5500 RPM the engine begins to hesitate as if it isn't getting enough fuel. if i remember right this is somewhere around when the 5th and 6th ports kick in. could this be something i need to check out, and how do i do so. also there is a exhaust leak from the cat not being bolted to the Y-pipe. it just kinda touches together. could this be something of an issue with this as well?

also i changed one of my rear calipers today with one from my parts car. i noticed that they look different. for example the one on my car had numbers and a radiation symbol stamped on it. the one from my parts car had nothing stamped on it, but it was shaped into ridges. any ideas what is up with this?

sounds like my car...lol...the hesitation thing? when i try to go past about 4500 the car hesitates, and i come to find out that some of the rinky dink dip **** hoses are blocking the omp rod from opening up with the throttle....(dont look at me look at the guy who owned it before me....dumnass to the max) so yeah check that theres no obstructions that are blocking the way of the omp rod....whats funnie is that i used to be able to go past that 4000 mark before, the hesitation thing only just surfaced....i dont thing the exhaust leak has anything to do with it...all that would do is make things louder....but you might want to fix that....lol
as far as that brake caliper thing goes....
you got me, might be one of those custom things or something....i dont know...lol

i can push it all the way to redline, but after about 5500 it seems to almost stutter and hesitate, and it doesn't seem to have the power that it should.

I used to have the same problem, not the leaky cats though, but the hesitation problem. I just fixed that today, go to www.rotaryresurrection.com, go to the tech section and read the thing on grounds. My car used to hesitate around 4k when I had my headlights on, and with my headlights off I could red line so smoothly. I checked my alternator and its voltage was fine, so i follow the instructions on rotary resurrection and it fixed my problem. It wouldnt hurt to do the grounds anyway. Just to make sure that isn't the problem, and if it isnt it will still help alot. it could also be your ecu grounds, i suggest regrounding them. but if its your 5th and 6th ports i suggest seeing if they open, search the forums. I believe if you search "6th port" you'll find some really good stuff on how to test if they are working properly. hope I could be of service

will try the grounding and see if that helps any, can't hurt anything even if it doesn't help. however i've still got a bad feeling that it's my 5-6th ports that are malfunctioning.

I don't think so. If it was you're aux ports, you'd know it long before 5500rpm..

In 2nd, with closed aux ports, its SOOO SLOOWW from 4000-redline. Like seriously, it's really hard to rev it. I know when I was pulling in (2nd or 3rd?) with aux ports shut, I was WOT for like 20-30 seconds(I think?) and just couldn't get to redline.
