high mileage 2nd gen

My 90 GTUs just turned 200k on the clock. Still running strong- original struts and suspension. Exhaust changed four times. Finally put on ss pipes and mufflers. Just curious how many other high mileage 2nd gen are still out there.
Note: 87 TS base in photo has been sold- only 150K miles.

I went 168,000 miles on my original NA motor, the last 26,000 with the blower. Then to my surprise, the oil seals let go. I would've figured I'd pop an apex seal when I added the boost, but they held up fine.

How much hp were you making with the supercharger? Quarter mile times? Just Curious. Thanks

Yo,

Cool, my GTUs only has approv 60K on it, that means I've got 140K to go! *grin* My struts are going out though, probably because they weren't used enough from the previous owners.

Good job! Keep your GTUs goin' strong! We're trying to set up a GTUs registry page soon. Standby!

My 1990 GXL had 192k when I sold it.

My 1988 vert has 124k, but it had a motor do to an o ring (where it says Mazda) leaking.

My 1985 GSL had 224k when it let go, its being rebuilt right now. (By the way this car never had an easy day with me, it was at 7k everytime I shifted lol )

My 1980 had like over 200k when I put a motor in it, but dont remember exactly what the total was.

Thumbs up HIGH MILEAGE

I have an 87 N/T with 246,000 Miles, Car all stock except exhaust, no cats. All on castrol 20/50 motor oil. Untill recently !!

I`ve never done the ATF thing but it still pulls to redline as smooth as it ever did !!!

Only problem with the car is 1st and second gear are getting a little noisy.

I`ve done a lot of other things to the car to keep it going, but nothing to the motor except water pump and AC pump.

Clutch, all four wheel bearings, drive shaft, brakes, shifter bushings, change all fluids regularly, an oh ya, tires, lots of tires !!!!

I have a '90 GXL with nearly 207k miles on the original engine. No engine mods except for a hi-flow cat and HKS exhaust.

My first 88 gxl went 101k, then popped..

My second 88gxl.. The prev owner guy replaced the engine at ~127k (pop) with a used one with ~85k.. Since, then, i've put ~10k on it..

My 87se has 175k.. No idea at all if it's the orig engine..
