High and jumpy Idle?

So my car does this thing where it starts up and jumps from 1,000 to 1400!!!! then when the motor warms up it jumps slowly back and fourth and then sometimes after its warm it doesnt jump at all and just sits at 1,100 BUT only for like 5 minutes then it jumps back and fourth between 1,000 and 1,400.....WTF is going on?

I've adjusted throttle and its like as low as i can set the damn thing- i've looked for vacuum leaks, i've did the kicked the back right tire and face east and coughed up trick (you know our cars are jumpy lol) I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE?

Some people say its my tps sensor, but if that was the case, wouldnt my car feel like it was choking at certain rpms?

Check the tension of the throttle cable. If that's OK, then....

Set the TPS to 1000 Ohms, engine fully warmed up. Once you know you've gotten the TPS set, then go back and set the idle speed. Engine fully warmed up. Short the initial set connector and crank the engine. Adjust the idle to 700-800. Remove the initial set connector short.

After this then go find and fix your vacuum leak.
