High idle problem, (yes, I searched)

Okay I was taking a nice drive and drove for about 1 hour or so, got close to home, pushed in the clutch and all of the sudden my idle is at 2000-2200,
I didn't see any vacuum leaks.
My dash pot works fine
I dunno how to adjust the idle on S5 N/A.
and to top it off, The flap thingy adjuster screw head is broken,\(the screw that holds that throttle thingy closed to a certain point)
I am pretty sure my tps is bad or needs adjusting b/c
my check engine light is weird as hell.
no throttle= light ON
throttlr= light OFF
I guess I am wondering can the tps affect your idle?
and is it normal for this to JUST HAPPEN I mean no signs of a erratic idle or anyhting.
(it has always idle'ed at/around 1,000 untill tonight)
I appriciate the help..

oh yeah the car is a 1990 gxl, with gutted cat's RB mufflers and a intake filter.

1k is high unless you have removed the BACV and keep PS and AC. The TPS wont toss a CEL "atleast on my S4". You can unplug the TPS if it makes you feel betor for testing purposes. Is the pic your car? Why do you have S4 tails?

Ok check VAC leaks first. Timing will advance your idle. You can adjust it on your BACV a little. Check throttle cable tension. Check fast idle adjustment screw on the TB. Faulty PS, AFM, WTS, ISC, air intake sensor on dynamic chamber.

Why don't you try and scan for error codes off the ECU???

well I went and drove it today,
same **** idle at 2k.
I got on it-(took to redline)
then idle'ed at 2300rpm.
then red line'ed it again and now it idle's at 3,000 rpm??
I checked for vac. leaks with carb cleaner and nothing happened.
I set the idle lower with the flap setter screw thingy. and the mixture screw and between the two I got it to idle at about 800. It stayed there untill I got on it.
then did the same **** again.
please help me, this is my daily and I have no car w/out this.!!!!!

Is the spring tension good on the TB? Is it not allowing the butterflys to close? Or the set screw backing off or in?

TB, BACV, ISC check them.

It was the set screw thingy,
the nut had came off and everytime I got on it, it let tension off of the bottom of the screw and it kept winding down,
thanks for the help guys!
