High idle problem

I am having a funny idle problem with my TII. It seems to stay on an extremely high idle (1800-2300) for about 1/2 hour. It then will finally kick down to the normal low idle. How does one adjust this?

It also seems to act funny when hot started. Once running, it wants to idle at about 250rpm. I have to keep my foot on the gas to prevent stalling. Within a few moments, it will return to a normal low idle, but has a tendancy to hop back up to about 1400rpm.

What should I do with this?

Thanks for any imput.

Firtly, go to www.iluvmyrx7.com and download the EFI chapter of the Factory Service Manual, plus any other chapters that might interest you. The FSM contains solutions to many problems, plus tons of useful info.

Is your high idle just when the engine's cold? Could be a malfunctioning thermowax, which is what raises the idle speed until the engine warms up.

Your hot start/idle problem could be a caused by the Hot Start Assist System not working properly. Look in the FSM to find how to check it.
