High Fuel Consumption
Hi Guys,
What kind of mileage are you getting out of your FC? Cause my mileage seems rather high. I am getting less than 200KM on a full tank of 98octane fuel, it has just a bit of works like a hybrid knightsports turbo, microtech, and 3mm steel seals with a very minimal port. If I compare it to my first gen rx7, which has all the works with huge turbo and 8injectors, microtech and all the other go fast bits, this car gives me around 250KM on a full tank. Their tank storage size should be the same. Pls advise? Is the FC alot heavier, that's why it's contributing to the high fuel consumption? Or is it because it's not properly tunned?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Francis.

There is a thread about this in the archive, but to make a long story short, turbo rotaries drink fuel. My Na got ~25mpg freeway and about 15 driven hard. Car and Driver got something like 17mpg during easy highway miles and about 10-12 during hard driving when they tested the 87 TII. Since you need a rich fuel mixture to keep from having the engine detonate under boost, your engine will use more fuel than a non-boosted rotary. Also you didn't mention if you tuned your Microtech on a dyno with a wideband sensor. The base fuel map might be a little rich itself.
