High End Power Loss

I have a '87 NA, and i am experiencing high end power loss. When the motor is cold, it runs great, but once it warms up, it looses power past 3800 rpm and sometimes studders there before continuing up. My Air/Fuel Gauge shows that it hits 3800rpm, and goes so lean, that it doesn't even display any lights. I removed my airpump and ACV before i used this motor, would that have any effect? I'm thinking that my secondary ports aren't working? any ideas would be appriciated. thanks,
~Rob~

IIRC the stock o2 sensor only works during cruising. Your problem seems to be non-functional secondary injectors or a short in their harness. You might want to see if they are good and take a look at their harness plugs and wires for bare wire(s).

EDIT** could also be what Aaron stated I misread your post and thought you had a complete power loss.

Standard 3800 RPM hesitation (search, check archive).

Make sure your 5th and 6th ports are working (search).

Santiago- the stock O2 sensor "works" all the time, as long as it's hot, just isn't very accurate for tuning purposes...But if you're running lean, it'll let you know...

Perhaps what I am thinking of is the ECUs usage of the signal?

is there any way to check the seconday port operation without driving down the road with someone in the engine compartment and the hood up?

We normally recommend applying grease to the rods on the actuators and going for a *spirited* drive. Actuation of the pistons will smear the grease around and make it easy to spot.
