high beams dont work
I have a 86 rx7, the headlight highbeams wont come on. I put a new switch in it but it still does not work. has anyone had this problem before? I have 9004 conersion lights in it. would those effect the highbeams i have been checkinf fuses but none are bad. Does any one know the lay out of the fuse box mine is missing the cover. Rob

Both fuse box are shown in one of the first threads on this site. That thread is called FAQ.
About halfway down the thread it has jpg of both fuse box.
If you had a meter you could tell if the power was getting to the Dimmer or Headlight relay. The Dimmer Relay is the most inboard of the relays on the radiator bullkhead. The Headlight relay is the one next to it.
Have someone flip the headllights to high/low a few times and feel the dimmer relay to see if you can feel it pull in/out as the switch is put to high/low.
Go to this thread to see where the relays are in the car and a diagram. It's about halfway down the thread,. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...t=dimmer+relay

my fuse is fine :/
hailers i have another question (electrical) for you
my right (passenger) blinker works fine.
my hazards work (on the right side)
my left blinker doesnt work, no arrow indicator, nothing. just a rapid CLIK CLIK CLIK from the (flasher?) by the fuse box.
the bulbs are fine. brand new.
the marker lights (blinkers?) turn on fine when i put the lights on. the left one just doesnt blink.
i have gone through 3 headlamp/highbeam/blinker switches, all have the same result.
any clues? is there only one flasher or could i have just the left one out? this has STUMPED me

Errr, ahhhh, duh. Got me. Hey try this if you have the time. Move the bulbs from the left side of the car to the right side and vice versa. then see if the problem travels to the other side of the car.
I'm not that great on blinkers. I suspect they have two filiments and if a filiment is out that usually causes the rapid blinking by the flasher. On other cars anyway. Give it a shot. Cost nothing but time.

I just looked at the diagram. Ooops. Change the CPU is my next thought. There seems to be just one filiment. But two contacts in the CPU. One for the left and one for the right side. Thats what I see in the series four diagram. Forget what I wrote in the other post. The flasher in the CPU seems to have gone.
On a series four you could pull the CPU 's seven pin plug off and jumper 12v to the . green/black wire then to the green/white wire and see if the lights just light up or not. At least that would prove the lights wiring is good and the bulbs are good.
Sorry, I don't have a series five diagram. Yours is series five?? If series four I can jpg a picture of what I said above.
