i would say that engine is on its last legs. most n/a's top out around 200k, 250k or so if its been taken care of. after that its rebuild time.

to rebuild, if you're going to do it yourself. probably around 1300-1700 not including time. thats cherry picker rental, engine stand rental, seal kit, but if you have it open, you may as well get it ported. depending on how long you take. if you bring it in, it'll cost more.

When you go to see the car make sure it's cold.
It should start right up with minimal- if any- smoke.
When driving, it should rev cleanly through the 4k rpm range (the secondary injectors kick in @ 3800 rpm) and sail up to redline.

Look the chassis over carefully- bodywork and paint are more expensive than mechanicals to repair.
Check all the electrics, switchgear, lights, etc.

A well cared for NA engine can easily break 250K miles, if she runs well you're probably fine for a while.

"Packed bearings" probably refers to wheel bearings...not that big a deal either way.

Hey, it's just a car, just a motor.
There are good 'uns and not-so-good 'uns.

You may get lucky, you may not...you're always taking a risk when you buy an old one.

Good luck.
