ok well the metal thing holding the raidator and ducting is at an angle , the box is not at that angle , and were the box drops in theres a line running stright up that meets the bottom of the box and prevents it from going down into place , it uses the preexisting brackets and the way the aera is modeled , the brackets will not meet the box unless we cut most of it away !

Man its very difficult to help with this. First off not many people on here spend that money for their box. Most make their own. Second, its not a hard install, just can't be. Are the TII and NA ones different? Did you get a different one maybe? Or maybe a S4 or S5 one?

The package you bought is probably this:
Mariah Cold Airbox Kit
1986-1992 Turbo II & Non-Turbo
(This is a "DO-IT-YOURSELF" kit for those people who have ALREADY MODIFIED their intake system in one way or another. Package includes a Mariah closeout panel assembly & installation hardware Only)
The one you should have bought is if the car is stock is:
Mariah Cold Airbox and K&N FIPK Package
1986-1988 Turbo II & Non-Turbo
(This package includes a COMPLETE, emissions legal, K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit and a Mariah closeout panel assembly and ALL other NECESSARY HARDWARE for INSTILLATION.)

are you cutting a aftermarket box or stock box? if it is an aftermarket box it should drop right in. just remove the stock box by removing all the screws holding the top of the box in then remove airfilter and on the underside there are some bolts to remove ,after that your aftermarket box should fit.
