Hey guys I need help!! s5 t2 engine in a s4 t2 body

Sorry guys but i can't find a solid answer to my questions.

My s4 turbo engines coolant seal gave out, so I'm looking to replace the engine...

I keep hearing that the swap is more then just plug and play, but i can't find a s4 t2 enigne...

Like i said I have a series 4 turbo 2, and I wanna drop the series 5 tII engine into it... I've heard that the mounts are the same, but I need to know if my s4 ecu, and harness will work with the s5 engine.

and does the transmission line up, and is the drive shaft the same length?

Thanks!

If both trannys and driveshafts are tii then it will bolt up. Everything else you need to know is in this link.

You'll be fine, Just put a block off plate on the omp, and run premix. Use the S4 TII injectors on the s5 motor and your good to go.

why would you block off the OMP? just modify it to run off a separate reservoir. the only bad part about it is that it uses dirty used engine oil.

It can work

You simply need to switch over some stuff from your S4 Motor to the S5 motor:

quick list:
UIM
LIM
TB
front cover
injectors

and use all the S4 TII electronics..

Basically only using the S5 TII block and turbo assembly

Why swap the UIM and LIM? Ive read that alot of people use the s5 mani's because the flow is much better than the s4's?

Its true the S5 intake is alittle better but i assume he said to swap manifolds because its like a legit S4 TII but with a S5 core. Either manifold with work, the gains aren't like omg i gained tons of hp. But if you want every little bit of power s5 is the way to go....i think

TBMF-RX7 Why are you buying another motor when you have a good S5 core to use? All you need to do is put the:

S4 tii:

injectors
throtttle body/tps
front cover
engine harness
AFM
waterpump/housing
fan

On to the s5 block. Or you dont have the s5 block and you just wanted to buy one?

the S4 OMP is mechanical.
the S5 Is electric and there is no Plug for that on the S4 TII harness.
besides the S5 OMP when it goes puts the engine into LIMP MODE..a very Nasty little quirk that should have been Researched more by Mazda.
Premix would be good for this candidate,it is an easy way of dealing with linkages and So on..and no wiring is needed.

Im running into the same problem as you. Except my TII doesnt have a motor, So i need to Either find a s4 TII crate motor, Or buy a s5 TII and source all the s4 crap.

Soo...

Whats the difference between the s4 and s5 TII injectors?
Do you "need" to swap front covers? or can u block off omp run premix and use s5 front cover.
Why replace the water pump housing? and isnt the fan the same between s4 and s5?

Figured id ask alot of questions for the both of us

^The s4 injectors are low impedance and need a resistor box, while the s5 dont. Need to swap the front cover because the mechanical OMP has different bolt pattern as the s5, and the s4 water pump housing has the cap on it while the s5 has the coolant cap on radiator.

So s4 ecu cant run the s5 injectors?
IF you delete the OMP. can you keep the s5 front cover?
and the water pump housing, It doesnt sound like its neccesarry to swap it, Or is it? Or is it a preference.

My car im building for track use. TBMF im assuming a DD?

S4 > S5 injectors: I don't think so, since the harness is different (NTM the required volume of fuel, impedance, etc);

OMP: Depends on what you mean by 'Deleting.' It would be easier to just leave the sucker on there and cap off the feeding ends, on both sides (the supply side of the squirters)... Trying to omit it, completely would entail a special block-off plate, NTM some funky code from the ECU, since it's not plugged in, anymore;

The waterpump housing.... Uhm. I think you COULD leave the S4 on the S5... They ARE interchangeable, though the bottom right stud-hole may need to be ground away, depending on which way you go (I addressed that one in my thread, as well.) Not sure about pump flow-rate differences, but something would tell me that the S5 Tii waterpump is more efficient, though I could be wrong.

I changes mine over when I changed the timing cover.... Just made sense to me, since I had it.

Hmm i always figured injectors are injectors. But i guess if you were running huge ones, the stock ECU would freak the hell out. I know the 240 guys like our rx-7 injectors and throw em on their cars.
