Uh, you are getting raped. Talk to Kevin Landers, I would go with a t2 trans and an ACT street/strip clutch with a light weight 11lb. flywheel. This setup would probally be close to the $1700 price, but you would have a t2 trans, lighter flywheel, and a clutch that will be almost impossible for your NA to break.

Hey, cool man. That is what I am trying to get accepted for at Oregon State U. Engineers are not nerds. They have the discipline and mental strength to get through Calculus, Thermodynamics, Technical Writing, 100 page papers / projects, and they can put up with the "I run your life . . . muahahahaha" attitude of their professors!

I wish more Engineers liked the second generation RX-7. These boards would be more interesting

OMG... you can find N/A trannys for 1-200 bucks!!!!!!!!
It takes about 4 hours total to swap the tranny.
-Unscrew the shifter ****
-Unbolt the front part of the exhaust.
-Unplug the speedo cable and reverse/5th gear switch from the tranny.
-Unbolt the driveshaft yoke u-bolts...
-Pull the driveshaft out
-Unplug and unbolt the starter motor
-Remove the tranny-engine bolts
-Support the tranny... then unbolt the crossmember underneath the tranny.. and slide it out.
Dat's it! (I might have missd something... who knows)
Installation is the reverse... it's just a bit of a pain to line it up.. I prefer to get right underneath the tranny, bench press it by hand and slide it up.... it's pretty light, and I'm not a weak guy ( )

I'll do it for you for $1500! I'll even drive there!!! I'll even buy you the tranny to install!!

2 more semesters and I'm out. Don't expect to have to write 100 page papers. Perhaps 30 pages. Just get really good at interpolating data for thermo and remember laplace transforms (diff eq) for a vibes class. After statics and dynamics, it's pretty much the same stuff over and over again.
