Hey Everyone

I just purchased my first rotaries. A red 91 vert and a black 88 GXL. I think I'd like to restore the vert and part out the gxl. I've looked over the site and read the faq's. There's alot of good info here! I still have a couple of questions.

Brief: The 91 was in good condition but quit running. The PO thougt it had lost compression, but a diagnosis has never really been done. Everything else on the car is good. The 88 was being driven daily but ran into tranny problems. They are of course both NA 13b with 5 spd trans.

1. How much difference is there between the wiring of the S4 and the S5?

2. Would it be easier to swap the S4 motor into the S5, or the S5 tranny into the S4?

I'm sorry I know these are n00b questions and have probably been answered, but I've done all of the reading I have time for and it's hard to search for differences between the S4 and S5 because the search function ignores anything with less than three characters. Thanks for your help!

Swap the trannys. The motor intails alot of work. The wiring is very different.

Alright, so I should keep all s4 wiring and motor and swap the S5 tranny in? I read that it requires a little mod to fit the S5 tranny into the S4. Can this be confirmed? Can anyone ellaborate on the "mod"?

Thanks.
