Hey all you DIYers out there!!!
so i was reading about boost controllers on the ever so popular wikki and it says its pretty simple to make your own manual boost controller. and ive heard of friends of friends of friends making their own with parts from home depot.
article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boost_controller
so who here has made their own manual boost controller? want to do a write up? or just go into detail about the tools materials, and where you mounted it.
it says just use a bleeder screw, but i kinda want it to look nice.
why spend 70-80 bucks when you can spend ~20 if even that.

Don't.
MBC's are more headaches than it's worth.
I know the thought of getting more boost / power is enticing, but it's not worth it.
Performance costs money.
Cheap will bite you in the ***.
If you really want a boost controller, get an EBC.

what are some things that can make it malfunction other than poor installation/"tuning"?
cus im checkin out ebay and i can get a spring/ball EBC for 11 bucks, kinda scares me that $11 is controlling the life of my turbo/motor but EBC's are sooooo effing expensive and seem like a waste.....im gonna touch it one, and let it sit. it will just be etecandy for theives.
please chime in, im torn lol.

With manual boot controllers it is set at one continuous level. The bonus is that most EBC's have a controller motor on the valve itself governed by a processor constantly adjusting the setting resulting in "perkier" performance. To me personally a manual boot controller was a waste of my money and more importantly my time.
