Question Hesitation during acceleration

This question has probably been answered before but I'm a new owner of an 88' Rx-7 NA and the car seems very clean enginewise and the car itself. The prob. I'm experienceing is that there is this sparatic hesitation while I'm accelerating through the gears, especially in 2nd and 3rd. There is this kind of jumpy feel as I'm pushing on the pedal to go up to the next gear and I dont know what it is. I'm wondering if I need new spark plugs and wires or if there is a bad ground as was told to me by a friend. I honestly have no clue as to what it might be or if this is a common problem with this model. Any suggestion and advise would be greatky appreciated. Thanks alot ! ! !

Vacuum leak. Check your vac lines and engine seals for leaks.

See if it happens at the same rpm all the time. If it does (around 3800 rpm) then you have the same old problem everyone else has had or still has. Do a search and you will see what I mean.
