Hepl With A N/a-->tii Swap
k it looks like there is 98351564 other threads on here that all say help!! car wont start or what ever, anywho heres my problem
i recently purchesed a jdm s4 TII swap (motor,ecu, tranny, body and engine harness uncut, sweet round shift **** ha) into my s4 n/a. i have dropped the jdm motor in and connected every thing possible. but when i go to start it, it wont even turn over. i hear the click that happens when you turn you key to aux. postion, but it wont crank. im not even tryin to start it just tryin go get it to turn over. battery is brand frikin new, starters good, all my grounds are in place and tight. every things connected, some one helppp!!
i have no idea whats going on. but if no one on here knows or cant help, ill be forced to take it to speed machine. how ever as of right now im an very open to suggestions, cos 100 bones an hour for labor plus parts isnt sounding to tasty right now.

Are all of the wires hooked up??? There's this single black/red wire that goes from the starter to the main fusebox in the engine compartment. Mine wasn't hooked up and it had the same symptoms as yours.
If all your getting is a click, jack up the car get under there with a rubber mallet and give the Solenoid a few good wacks... A lot of times after sitting these stick so all you hear is a click when trying to crank. A swift blow can free it up. If that doesn't work pull the starter take the solenoid apart (it is very very easy) lay the parts out like you took them out. Clean everything with some solevent like wd40 or something. Then lube it up with some tefflon or something. But it all back together and give it a shot. The starter it self. doesn't have much that can go wrong. Most of the starter issues people go and get new starters for are solenoid issues. On our starters you can still seperate the two. So you don't have to replace the starter... Anyway.. Good luck!!!
If you read the OP again, you'll see the engine is not turning over, so the problem is in the starting system or power supply.
OP, you said the starter's good, so I'll take your word on that. Pull the starter out, put a jumper cable to the starter (negative to starter flange, positive to large solenoid nut). Now take a medium sized wire (i don't know, lets say 12 gauge) and jumper the large nut on the solenoid to the male 1/4" spade connector.
If the starter jumps and dances, the problem is in the circuit feeding power to the solenoid, i.e. battery to ignition switch starter position, to solenoid. If the starter doesn't do it's job, try what the previous poster said about cleaning the solenoid.

Does the motor actually have compression?
Just sit down and make sure it has spark/fuel/compression. It's not rocket science and diagnosing **** doesn't cost more then a dollar or two here or there.
