Helping my friend changing his AT fluid
Hey guys, I got a friend who has a 91 auto. He wants to have his fluid change. He is going to go with either Royal Purple or Redline (which one is thicker btw?) Well anyway here is my question
Whats the best way to change it?
1. Use the machine to flush out the system (they charge liek 60 bucks at the shop, and i hope they let you run your own fluid)
2. Take out the fluid pan and just put in new fluid
3. Drain the oil now, fill up new ones. Do this step a few times, hopefully i can get everything out.
Oh yeah, does the synethic fluid fully blend with regular tranny fluid?
Thanks

I think the machine flushs out the trans cooler. Then they drop tranny pan and clean it, replace the gasket (if it has one), replace the trans filter. I'm sure if you gave them your own ATF they would use that instead.
