Help--Where do these wires go??

'87 N/A

Passenger Side of the motor, right above the AVC I have 2 loose wires. They look to be about 14-16 Gauge, one's black, the other is black with white(?) stripe. They plug into a white connector, at the same place the AVC plugs in.
The end of the wires appear to have melted off, or been torn off, and I have no idea what they are supposed to lead to.

I've been digging through the FSM without much luck.

Thanks.

You should have 2 things to connect on the ACV:
the split air solenoid valve and the port air solenoid valve. One connects to a white connector, the other to a black one.

This below is the one you are talking about
the split air solenoid valve is:
Black with White stripe
Blue with Black stripe (on my 87, it becomes a black with no stripe after the connector)
should be in middle of ACV. that's the one that has WHITE connector on other end.

This below is just for your info.
the port air solenoid valve is:
Black with White stripe
Black with Red stripe
should be to the right. that's the one with the BLACK connector on other end.

Here below is pic of the 2 solenoid valves on the ACV

the one in middle is the split air solenoid valve (to the WHITE connector)

to the right is the port air solenoid valve (to the BLACK connector)
