Help: Is Water Thermo Valve Supposed To Be Sucking Air?

Is the water thermo valve suppose to be leaking air out by the ****? You know the plastic valve on the cable side of the throttle body.

No, if air's leaking out (in actually) it's broken. This vac leak will cause problems...

Same problems as any other vac leak. Bad idle mostly.

You don't need to mess with the thermovalve itself. Just remove the vac line and put a cap on the manifold nipple.

I just purchased a new water thermo valve from mazda and hooked up the vacuum hoses and heard the valve sucking air. Does this mean the "NEW" OEM part is broken?

there's a filter under the plastic end cap, you know, for a metered vacuum bypass, ie a vacuum leak that is normal. iirc when cold the vacuum is applied to the double throttle butterfly, warm it bypasses.
