The rear of the na driveshaft will NOT mate with the turbo rear end input shaft.

i have pretty much the whole shell of a t2 with driveshaft and all suspensions. IM gonna buy a remanufactured motor from mazda, and put new turbo. I dont want to spend to much on my tranny though im already getting a ACT clutch and pressure plate.

The NA tranny will not work with any of the T2 drive parts. It will mate to the T2 engine but that's about it. Depending on how much HP you're planning on putting down, you're going to need that t2 tranny.

If I remember correctly from when I did my swap years ago, I swapped in the T2 rearend before I did the engine and tranny. I then took the T2 driveshaft to a driveshaft place and had them swap the NA front yoke onto it for me. Total cost was less than $100 (don't remember exactly) and I drove it around like that for a couple of months until I did the engine and tranny.

Personally, I would put in a T2 tranny if you ever plan on modding later on. However, I'm sure you will find some people who will tell you that you can continue to use an NA tranny.

Good luck!

Dan
