Cool Indiglo reverse guages

Hey Guys, I received my new guage faces from Cork Sport and ther was no wiring diagram with the order (what a suprise, huh!). Has any one else installed these? I have an idea how to install them by looking at the wiring diagram in the repair manual but I would like to be assured that it is the best way to install them. Thx

Corksport never ceases to suprise me with their incompetence lately... There was a big issue in the lounge a couple weeks ago. It really set a bad image for them in alot of the users on this forum. Scary stuff for their public eye and market group. Anyhow...

The irony in this is, is that if you hook it up wrong and ruin the set, they won't give you a replacement because they will say you should have followed the instructions. You know--the ones they didn't send.

I would call them and ask them to fax the instructions. Why? Not so much because its that dificult. Hell, they aren't *that* hard to install. Infact theres going to be a few users pop on and give detailed instructions. But for the principle of the thing. Puts them back in check. Enough times and maybe they will throughaly check each package for its shipping contents.

And if the gauges aren't supposed to come with instructions... why don't they, apparently they are needed for someone somewhere.

They do have a write up, but it's not on installing the gauge faces... it's installing a prebuilt guage cluster.

I hooked mine up the dimmer power switch - is there a problem with this?

I bought some off of ebay, also did not come with instructions. But it looks pretty straight forward to me. Im just going to have a separate switch to turn on the gauges.

Yes. The dimmer switch will lower the voltage to x voltage. this is how it dims. The reverse lighting needs to have 12v. If you dim your lighting, and the dimmer switch drops voltage to say... 6 volts, it means that it now has to run twice the amperage. The reverse lights aren't meant to consume amps and hence will fry itself.

Get it off the dimmer switch now! First time your knee bumps the dimmer switch your gauge lighting is toast.

I don't see what everyone's problem is with them. I didn't find anything wrong with what went on, and how exactly do you know if the person that was getting charged, cant remember her name, was actually the one at fault and wasn't giving the full truth in the post?

Side note, I've had nothing but good results from corksport in my experience. Most recently, I ordered a Pineapple engine stand adapter from them on Aug 12th at 1am and it arrived today Aug 13 at 1pm, I was amazed about how fast it got here.
