HELP stuttering....hopefully a pro

On my ride to work today I noticed that the car starts to stutter at about 5200 rpms and gets.

the facts:

*reman from atkins with 650 miles on it. break in done the 500 miles at 4k rpms and from 500-1000 i venture to 5k (I only "pushed" past 5k when I noticed something odd"
*racing beat full turbo FCD
*hks drop in
*AFR (wideband) reads perfect
*doest get much past 2-3 lbs boost and on this ride it was happening before ANY positive boost.
*have some silicone hoses done

what can I do

Oh yeah. it gets progressivly worse as I go through the gears. meaning. more noticible in 3,4 and 5 than in 1 and 2.

please help

havent checked it it yet. BTW. I dont recall this happening before I changed some lines yesterday. I did the first 3 closest lines in that row of like 5 or 6 connected together beneath the intercooler ( the ones that are like 4 inches long and travel in a little upsidedown "U". Any ideas

That sounds like part of the emissions system...if none of the vacuum lines are leaking, I'd suggest the TPS as well. Have you done any tests (carb cleaner, etc...) to check for vacuum leaks?

We gave you 2 things to check. Now stop bumping, and go check for leaks and TPS

http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/HOWTO/TPS/tps.html

I have used both the voltage (1v at idle, ~4 at WOT) and resistance (1Kohms at idle - 4-6K at WOT) with success, so whatever you feel comfortable with should work. Just make sure the car is warmed up first.

Also, hesitation may be caused by a failing TPS, not just bad adjustment, so if adjusting it doesn't help, you might want to try and find another one to test.

BTW, every 2nd gen owner should have this page bookmarked:
http://home.rmci.net/panther/tech.htm

It's RXTASY1's site, and there's a ton of useful info on there.

Mine doesn't sound very good either...I think I may have a boost leak somewhere...I'm guessing the UIM gasket.

Changing the UIM (upper intake manifold) gasket isn't too bad of a job, but I doubt it would just start leaking. Changing it involves taking off the IC and UIM, and should involve changing some vacuum and coolant lines, just to add reliability. Do you have an exhaust leak, perhaps between the manifold and turbo?

It was the upper intercooler hose on the side closest the turbo. I never tightend it down and it was blowing air out the top. that fixed it.

sweet

thanks
