It should according to people who have done it, but I haven't seen it myself. If it did, that would be your last problem in my opinion but apparently others have drove like this.

I wouldn't recommend running it like that with the stock tmic. If you do not want a TII hood apply that money towards a front mount intercooler.

It will close with an NA hood. The TII hood might actually have less clearance than the NA version due to the section that seals against the intercooler. But running the engine without a hood scoop is not a good idea unless very temporary.

Yes, that would most likely look like crap. A TII hood shouldn't be that hard to find.

I have seen a vert with T2 swap and a N/A with a aftermarket scoop hood. Looked very tacky.

Much depends on the scoop, and the quality of the install. A local with a SBC swap put a scoop on the NA hood to accomodate/feed the air cleaner on top of the 4bbl - it looks very good, but then he and his friend that built the car glassed it in very nicely, it could easily have passed for a factory item stamped from a single sheet of steel. But their talent with fiberglass is truly exceptional. If you're not already good with bodywork, chances are you're not going to do a job on a hood that will not show your lack of experience.

If you don't want to go FMIC, finding yourself a TII hood is your best bet. If you're lucky, you can score one at a pick 'n pull - type yard for a few bucks, otherwise, expect to pay more - they cost $1000 new from Mazda, so they aren't generally a give-away item if someone has one around they don't need.

Yes the hood will fit, and close with the intercooler up top.

No, it will super heat soak once you boost it.
