Unhappy Help: Starts and Stalls within 3-7 Seconds

88 Vert 13B N/A, reman engine swapped out (my first time) would start up then die after 3-7 sec. trouble shot the system and figured out it was a bad air flow meter (AFM) ordered a new one and replaced the water thermo sensor (which I broke) and then started the engine. It ran for about 3 1/2 min and then shut down on no fuel. Trouble shot again and the fuel pump shut off. Fuel deprevation. Circuit looks pretty simple but what in the world other than the ECU would tell the Fuel Pump to shut down. Swapped out ECU's and still it does not work. Looking for some help I have finally given up which of course I hate to do but all out of ideas and FSM is not real clear to me.

There is a fuel pump test plug in the engine bay. It is black with yellow where the connector goes and is right by that pass side shock tower. Just jumper the 2 inputs and put the key in the on position. The fuel pump should be on now. If not, go check the voltage going to the pump. Is it getting the proper voltage? If so, then you have a bad pump. If not, its not getting the signal to turn on and we can further troubleshoot from there.

Done

Completed the checks and the pump is not powering up. Everything checks out. Is there something that would tell the pump to not turn on within the ECU?

Talking rough idle, floods quickly

Let the car sit overnight and it started up right away. Completed initial breakin (ran for 45 min) let it sit for 2 hours and then attempted to start up again and it was flooded. Flooded procedure followed and it started up again. Adjusted the idle and have to run it rich to keep it running. Looking at the fuel pressure regulator and possibly vacum leak. Really reaching for straws since this is way out of my area of expertise. Any thoughts?

It's running with the new engine so not all bad, time to fine tune.

Mine also has to run very rich to keep an idle. I have cranked the variable resistor screw almost all the way up. I think my cats are melted/blocked and the lack of exhaust flow is preventing the car from a happy idle. as well it is robbing some power in lower rpm range. maybe similar things? dunno you just rebuilt your motor so im guessing your pipes are clear
