HELP! Smoke Screen!

ok picked up my car today after gettin a turboII engine swap into my GXL....first catch is its still automatic...so with the hold function permanetly on it wont let me shift until i reach 5,000 rpms and the tranny doesnt really like the boost....im running the RB 3" exhaust and the first couple miles were fine (except when my gf called me on the cell and asked if the flames were supposed to be normal?) then i went up a big hill and started hearing this loud whistling noise....pulled over and put it in neutral and tried to see if reving it would cause the noise, but nothing....so i kept driving....then as i pulled up to a few stop lights smoke starting coming out of the exhaust and everyone at the light rolled up the windows...i also noticed it was running pretty hot, still in the "safe zone" on the stock temp gauge but near the top of the safe zone....finally i got home and parked it and tons of smoke poured out of the exhaust and filled up the street, it was so thick i couldnt see where i was going when i tried to run out from the smoke and with the turbo timer still running it kept pouring smoke everywhere until it finally shut off

any thoughts?

ok, stock auto tranny is not going to hold up to turboII torque... i didnt even know you could bolt the stock auto to a t2 engine....

what color is the smoke, what does it smell like, prolly blew a oil or coolant ring... or the turbo.. if the smoke is only coming out of the exaust

is it a new engine? rebuild?

its bolts up fine....but yea the tranny doesnt really like the boost and torque.....it spools up and kinda feels like someone is puttin the brakes on....

its a jspec engine.....but it had been recently rebuilt dont know how many miles and had all good compression and the turbo splines seemed really healthy

That's way too much oil for something to not be leaking into the engine. No easy fix for this one though. I would do a compression check and then you will need to dig into the turbo and maybe even the engine.

Beat me to the punch! I was about to tell you about the turbo. Oh well I am running on auto tranny just fine on my turbo/carb '87. Check the vaccum hoses for the tranny and please check the fluid level. Replacing the filter on the tranny is nice also. Mine wanted to slip between gears and it was a clogged filter. About spooling and doing burnouts mine wouldn't go untill I got a modded torque converter.
