help...s5 electrical troubles

i've been posting every few days about a problem ive been having with my mop error codes causing my car to run like crap. so i replaced the mop with a jspec one i got off ebay, it looked just fine and it seems to be working but all 3 codes for the mop keep coming up. i bought new oil lines for the mop and i see oil in them so im thinking the pump works just fine. what happens when i drive the car is:
the car idles and runs fine until i get on the gas (i.e. more than ~30 to 40 percent in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear) then the engine revs climb a little but i dont speed up very much and the engine warning light comes on and then the engine starts sputtering as i keep trying to accelerate, then wont go anywhere till i shift into another gear. it periodically does this in 1st and 2nd but not as often. if i shut the engine off and restart it the light dissapears until i repeat the above. now this is my only car i need to drive it.

also this all started when i used some engine bay cleaner on some of the dirty parts under the hood, i might have gotten water on some of the electrical connections, but i covered those parts with a towel.

do you guys think that the engine wiring harness may have been shorted or that the ecu is somehow permanetly damaged and cant recieve a proper signal? or perhaps the alternator is screwing this all up? im at my wits end, i have plenty of experience working with rx7's but this one is killing me. ive researched this onthe forum and see many simalarities but i havent seen anything exactly like what im experiencing.

seriously this has gone on for a month and i havent figured it out...im about a week away from selling it and getting a 98' 5.9 jeep grand cherokeelimited...please dont let me get that mad at my rx7...i would take it to the dealer or a mazda shop...but last times i did that they either made things worse or didnt fix anything at all. any help is appreciated thanks
andrew

Limp mode

I had similar symptoms but no MOP codes.

I thought it was the Limp Home Mode.

I bought MOP but replaced TPS first.

That cured problem.

I have not cleaned old TPS and tested yet.

Now running very well....

hmm perhaps it is the tps...ill run another check on the error codes tommarrrow and clean the tps. my tps test lights still function when i plug it in, when this first started i got tps codes but they never came back again...it definitly could be the problem though. its never been replaced.

My advice would be to use electric contact cleaner by CRC, as well as STP electric parts dryer, and take apart and spray the **** out of every electrical connector under your hoos that leads to a major component.

I had the same kind of problem with my o2 sensor every time I washed out my engine bay.
