help ront brake caliper pins seized!!!
I tried to change my front brakes today but when i tried to get the little steel pins out that hold the brake pads in, they were seized completely into the caliper after alot of screwing aound i eventually got one free but its pretty mangled and mushroomed so i havent got it out yet , im gonna have to get new ones, but does any one know a good way to get them,
im gonna get the caliper rebuild kit on monday, but these things are in there damn good,
i couldnt even get the 2nd pin to budge, i didnt even bother tryin the other side yet
i used a propane torch cuz i didnt wanna heat it up to much
the first one i tried hitting it with a punch, i eventually had to keep trying to wiggle it free from the center with a pair of vice grib, it was in there so good, only half the pin would spin, till i hit it some more wiht a punch lol

I cut them Right off,and then used a center punch to Push the 'little bit" that is left in the Pin hole out.
I noticed you just can't Punch the Whole PIN out as the force will dissipate and not allow the other side to Budge.
By Cutting the pins right off on each side and using a punch, they come out alot easier.

old thread but i searched and this is exactly my problem.
the only option then is to cut the pin out and replace with new pin?(also where can i get one besides probably making a WTB thread on classifieds?)
