Help with rear caliper install on 90 GXL
In my slow, painful process of rebuilding my GXL, I had to replace the rear calipers. After the car had been sitting for three years, the original ones were so badly corroded, they had siezed up and were useless. So I ordered two reman. units from Mazdatrix.
Here's the deal...I put the passenger side caliper on and seated the parking brake cable no problem. The driver side caliper was installed no problem.
I went to try and seat the parking brake cable....big problem. When I hook the end of the cable into the spring-loaded arm that engages the brake, I can't pull the cable far enough to let it slide into the stationary bracket. I opened up the gap between the two locknuts as far as it would go, and I'm still way short.
Any ideas? Thx.

did you loosen up the cable inside the car?
on the ebrake handle itself?
is it hanging up some where?
try taking the passenger side off and then puting on the drivers side
