help putting back together

ok, I got my manifold back on my engine now after porting it. I crank it up and it will jump up to 5k then after about 7 sec. drop to what would be an idle but it dies. I am sure it is the fact that I need to plug my cold start equip. that is on the trottle body up but still what makes my car jump up so high in rpms? I will try unpluging the bac and pluggin up every unused vacuum line. Oh yes and under the bac vavle I cirlced a pic of a big vac port that I wondered about. then to the right there is some sort of device that is about 2 in. tall and has two bolts that attach is to the dynamic chamber. It is what plugs up to teh side with a 2 prong connector. I was wondering if it needs to be connected to something else, right now it just sorta dangles. I circled it in red.

Well darn. I finaly figured what that vague figure is in the pic. That seems to be the AIR BYPASS SOLENOID VALVE. Should have two approx one inch hose on it and one electrical connector. Do you have the approx 3/4 inch metal pipe running at the top back of your dymanic chamber??? Its end should be connected to a hose that goes to the bottom of the large intake duct that goes b/t the throttle body and the afm. That bracket that I think I see in the picture, should be bolted with two 10mm head size bolts to the dymanic chamber. Seems to me you have a large open hole on the left hand side of your engine, due to the above, that might be the cause of your poblem with the high rev and then dying. I'll try to post a picture when I get home to show the arrangement of the hoses.
