ICEMARK!!!HELP POrfAvoR
Rebuilden my 13B (Seals changed), and having it ported. From what Ive been here'ing, porting results in a decrease of gas mileage. "But", arent there system's in place for decreasing fuel and air flow.. Will I still be able to achieve that "stoichiametric" mixture?
I just a got a streetport done to my motor and I'm reporting 20-22 mpg highway and once I get my wideband wired into my haltech i should be getting like 25mpg. Which is pretty much stock gas mileage.
a streetport (depending on how crazy the port job is) isnt gonna give you much less gas mileage unless your lead footed! just casual driving, you shouldnt really notice a change...
and be careful.... its against forum rules to use a specific persons name as the thread title!

Awesome, but in addition to upgrading my ecu, wouldnt a good old fassion port and polish gain me abit more performance... Or would it just be a big waste?? Im really tryen my best to spend this sum of cash on this rx wisely!!
ok since the thread changed i can help now.
ports won't decrease your mileage, your foot will. what that means is if you drive moderately at a steady pace then mileage should not suffer. i get about 22-23MPG highway with my relatively large streetport if i drive conservatively. this does require tuning with either a suitable piggyback(SAFC will work but not as well as a standalone EMS) or engine management system and a wideband oxygen sensor.

hmm, but you've a t2.. Mine's an N/A.. Wouldnt that affect my engine. I mean, if i were to switch from ecu that was made for the settings of an N/A, and install such an outstanding ecu, could it possibly destroy my engine...??? Also, is it hard to install an ecu. I've examined one, but never had a chance to set one up. IRON MAIDEN iS COoL

Uumm, I don't think it matters which engine you have.. You will be tuning the way it runs through the ECU from what I understand.
