Help please

I just purchased an 87 TII and pulled then engine and transmission to rebuilt it. I am trying to take off the flywheel nut but should i be concerned that even with me putting all my weight into a breaker bar with my friend trying to keep the motor from moving, the e shaft is not spinning . (BTW i forgot to attach a piece of chain to the tranny and flywheel, so i dont know why the eshaft is not spinning) Will there be any damage if i still try taking off the flywheel nut? Thanks for any input.

Without a chain to stop the flywheel from spinning, you'll never get the nut off.

Use a BIG breaker bar with a long piece of tubing over it to get extra leverage. Hang from it or have 2 people push/pull. They're torqued down at about 300 ft. lbs. so SD-rotary said it best..."good luck."

I was just wondering if the eshaft should be spinning if i am putting that much torque into it without chaining the flywheel to the transmission, because mine wasnt. Worried about damage to the eccentric shaft or other parts inside the engine. Sorry if this question was hidden in the above text and i didnt express myself clearly, been a long day at work.

with that much pressure the flywheel should easily turn. so basically i guess your motor is seized up pretty good.

It was broken when i got it. Got it about a month ago. The engine was basically stripped down to the the short block when i got it and nothing was covering the open holes (i.e 3 of the spark plugs were taken out and the lim was left uncovered as well). Reflecting upon this now, i guess the motor probably rusted on the inside. I don't know how long the engine was left in this condition, but i guess if i hold the flywheel in place with a chain and try to unbolt the nut no serious damage should occur? Just worried about damaging any of the internal components.

There's major damage inside the engine. Probably rusted up and kaput with trashed rotor housings and side housings. Have a good day.
