My car would not start so i took off the upper intake manifold and was tesing the injectors plugs themselves- i beleive that one is a ground(ecu controlled), and the other contsant 12v. I was using a test light and tested both, and nothing. Then I checked the secondaires and still nothing. The light on the test light didnt come on. But when i gave the injectors constant power from the battery it was working, the metal peice in the middle of moved, so i figured it working. Does anyone know what the cause of this is or can I not use a test light for this? It's obvious that my car isnt starting becuase of a fuel problem, it starts when ever I spray starter fluid in it but then it dies so anyone cab help????? What can cause the injector clips to not get power???? Anyone???
With the ignition in the ON position both the prongs on the injector at 12V. The CAS tells the ECU when to switch on the ground at the ECU. If one prong was constantly grounded and the other was 12V constant the injector would be always open.
Replace your broken ENGINE fuse. See the FSM for its location. Never use a bug light. Buy a digital meter and a FSM to go with it.
EDIT: You said the engine fired with starter fluid, so forget the part about the ENIGNE fuse but do the other.
With a digital meter, check for 12v on one wire of each injector. No 12v? Then apply you eyes to the FSM schematics.
Better still, do NOT remove the injector plugs or manifold. Using you FSM go to the small plug on the ECU and check each injector pin on that smallest plug for 12vdc. It should be there. If not, then apply your eyes to the schematics in the FSM.
