I am not 100% sure wheter or not my ports are opening and closing how can I check them it is an 1986 s4 N/A

 

put some oil or grease on the outside of the ports along the line where it opens and closes. Then drive around if you notice the grease is miss placed then they are opening and closing, if its not then they are not. Another way is take a very small piece of sawing string and tie it around where they open and close and tie it really tight so when they open it breaks the string, if the string is in place when you get done driving they arnt opening.

 

best way is to reach down there and see if they move easily by hand...shouldn't be much resstance, if any.

Also, you can start the car and open the throttle by hand and see if they're working.
