Help, my primary injectors don't fit anymore

stock 88 TII

I sent my injectors to be cleaned (WitchHunter) and now when i put them in the car and tighten down the primary rail (with spacer) they are way too loose. I can move them up and down. They also make a hissing noise long after the car is off (like they are passing fluid), probably because they are so loose. There are no visable leaks but they definately are not in there tight enough. Anyone else have this problem and know a way to fix it?

you need to have 1 O ring and 2 grommets ( spacer ) on the injectors

be sure you got all that rubber in place!

witchhunter did not replace the top spacer i don't think. Is it made of soft rubber or hardened plastic?

Soft rubber, about 1/8"-3/16" thick.

Sadly its a dealer part too... not that bad $ though, but, you might be able to make one out of the right size fuel line like most of us do with 1600's!!!!

actually, witch hunter replaced the spacer on top with a hard plastic gromet. I forgot to put the small brown plastic parts back into the holes where the injectors go. Now that I have put them back in, the secondary injectors fit very snugly, but the primaries are way too high. (the primaries have 2 brown plastic parts that go in the hole). I can't get the primary rail to bolt down now. any ideas?

The brown plastic things inside the housing? Those are the injector air bleeds I believe. Careful not to break those getting them back in. Howd you get them out in the first place? Do the lower grommets on the primary injectors sit flush with the housing when just put in? Dont forget the space for the primary fuel rail either.

i got them out with a pair of needle nose pliars. the primary air bleeds are two pice. The first piece goes down into the housing pretty deep but the second piece rests on top of that one and it is up pretty high.

thankfully they did not break when i removed them.

Did you get everything straightened out? We can send you more o-rings if you need.

Use a dab of motor oil on the orings and push up and twist the injectors into the rail. I had the same problem as you with a pinched oring.
