Help, my engine is dead!?!?

Hello all,
I think I lost the rear rotor today. But I want your guys opinions on my
symptoms to be sure that thats what it is.

She is a '91 N/A. just rebuilt intake, new vac lines, professionally
cleaned injectors, new plugs.
After 20min on the hyw. with no sign of problems, I was slowing down for
the off ramp, and all of a sudden, she started to violently shake and
lost a tonb of power. I managed to keep it running with a little
toe-heel action, and coast it to a little side street by the hyw. While
waiting for the tow truck, I checked that it has spark. I also, turned
the rotors by hand to check for compression...and I heard a
swooshing/whistleing sound from the front rotor...but the rear rotor's
sound was way, way quiter, bearly inaudible.

Any ideas? Maybe try the ATF trick? It has spark., and most likely it
has fuel...so what else? Can a dead TPS cause this? Dead O2 sensor?

Other mods are a cone intake and RB exhaust, PR sleeves.

Thanks far all your ideas and suggestions,
-Alex

Yeah, it is probably blown but a compression test will tell you for sure. Generally if everythign is right at one moment and totally opposite the next you know what's up.

IF you find yourself in need of an engine consider letting me build yours. I can do an s5 NA enginefor $1000 plus core, and I can do streetporting as well. Ive done several engines for guys on here, and several more for guys not on the forum.

IF youre at all interested check out http://hypntyz.rx7life.com/rebuildpage.htm for details, or just email me hypntyz@charter.net

Apparently, it's just been rebuilt...right? Well, as long as someone else did it, then there should be a warranty attached to said engine.

I'd be making some very irate phone calls if I were in your shoes.

No, no......If that was the case...I'd be glowing SO red youd see it through the computer. What I meant above is that I just refurbished the intake (cleaned it, new gaskets, etc...)

Is there a way to test compression, w/o taking the car to Mazda. I won't tow it again, and the closest dealer is 15 miles away. Are there testers available to buy? (Or better yet, anyone have one, and lives in North NJ, who will help me out? )

You can get a rotary engine tester for about $2000...

Just crank the motor over with #2 Trailing spark plug out, if you dont hear anyhting woooshing, its toast.
