help!! My 7 can't accelerate up a hill anymore.
So the past 2 days coming home from work, I've been having problems going up this steep and long hill in my RX-7. It feels like my car doesn't have any power and I keep losing speed.
I was thinking it might be my clutch, but my rpms are not increasing. In fact, pedal to the floor and I can't get over 4000rpm in any gear (as I get slower and slower and keep downshifting). It's weird, cuz on a level surface, I can get the rpms up there just fine.
Previously I had an exhaust problem where apparently the fitting in front of my cat was loose and I was LOUD and missing some power. But I had it tightened up and got it all back. It may have gotten loose again, but it's not loud like it was before. Also, I've noticed that when I accelerate quickly sometimes the acceleration is a little uneven/jerky. Could that be part of the same power loss thing? Could it be the exhaust again? Some turbulence restricting flow?
Would anyone have any ideas of what's wrong with my car???

Doh!
After I bought the car one of the things that I had replaced was the cat. Less than a year ago at an RX-7 shop, even.
I guess I'd better look for a better cat. Any suggestions as to what?
Thanks
