Arrow Help Me Understand Ignition Coils

I been reading several threads on upgrading from stock coils to ig1a smart coils. currently im running ps1000 with oem coils and I just don't understand how you can get the trigger signal for the smart coil and make rest of the system work since the tac meter goes through the trailing coil/wiring. was wondering if anyone can shine some light on this...

the tach signal will now come from the ECU. the tach output wire from where the trailing use to be gets connected to PWM/DPO 1

haltech settings below.

Pull Up 5V
Tacho Duty 50%
Pulses 2

That should do it. If the 5v pullup doesnt work, set it to 12V.
