Question Help Me Pick A Turbo!!!!

Ive got an 87 T2 and have the engine out to rebuild. I want to put in 720 primary and 100 secondary injectors. I have a recing beat turbo back exhaust. I'm getting a new turbo manifold.
I also am getting a FMIC and upgading the cooling system alot.

WHAT TURBO SHOULD I GET?

I see everybody put in the T04S. I was thinking more on the lines of a GT35 or a GT42.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanx guys

you will need a standalone EMS for any turbo like that.

I have a very similar set up as you.(87 TII, tubular manifold, FMIC, 720 primaries and 1000 secondaries) and I have a T04B. I cant remember off the top of my head what AR ratios but I do know that it has P-trim wheel. I push 14 PSI right now and it is great for street and around town driving, fully spools around 4500 RPM. I plan on putting it on a dyno again soon, but it made 289 hp at 8 PSI with stock primaries and 720 secondaries.

why dont you check the single turbo section?

you will need sometype of fuel management no matter what you upgrade with.

You need to figure out what you want to do with the car, and what you want out of it.

Street driving?
Track?
Little of both?
Horsepower goal?
Emissions compliant or no?

That will narrow down the choices.

GT35R is a good turbo but you're going to have to spend more money for it

end of discussion.

if you wanna start small, go with a bnr staged turbo. its cheap and fun untill your willing to roll hard core.

Sheesh, you guys are offering some crazy suggestions for a stock-ported S4 motor.

Get some form of a port while the engine is out (a decently increased flow streetport should suit you well unless you want to try and spool that GT42R reasonably), buy a standalone (Haltech, Microtech, whatever), and then you can think about a GT42R.

Any of the aformentioned turbos will spool FINE on a stock port S4.

And a 42R isn't a crazy suggestion lol

You need to determine your goals and a realistic budget.

I guess I don't need to post pictures these day

Up and Coming,

You need to determine your realistic power goals, budget and purpose of the vehicle. I would suggest a To4E for street use. If you need some help I have our shop number in the link below.

why dont you leave your GT47R at home and go with a GT60 and be done with it. You might wana add a couple of extra rotors tho. a total of 4 should be sufficent.

Yea, I was planning on just having the car sit around for a while, while i save money. But im driving my sisters Buick Century until I get it finished. I'm tired of driving that POS around. So I just want to get it back together and them ill upgrade everything later. I wanna do some stuff jsut not EVERYTHING like i had planned. I just carved out the medium streetport last night. Im waiting on an apex seal and them i can get the block back together. Anybody know how to use the stock turbo(which has zero shaft play) to its best without getting a bunch of electronics or other upgrades. like maybe just the Rtek 1.5 or something. Thanks guys
