Help me with my Vert suspension build.

I have done a lot of reading on the forum and have descided and have orders coming in for the Racing Beat vert springs and a set of KYB AGX's. I will be having a shop install this stuff as I have little to no time to do it and want it done properly.
Should I be getting them to change certain other things while they are doing this like bushings and what not?
Will there be a noticeable improvement over the stock setup?

Thanks

If you have the funds and you have a capable shop, I'd highly recommend a full bushing kit like the Energy Suspension one. Basically it will tighten everything up and you'll be putting all new components in -- should make your car feel nice and tight. You might even want to consider doing the DTSS eliminator bushings. Again, you're replacings 15+ year old components, so anything is going to help.

I think the full bushing kit, dtss elims, plus the springs and AGXs that you've ordered will probably blow your mind as to how much better your car will feel on the road. Enjoy!

I agree with most everything except: *DO NOT*remove the dtss just because someone tells you to. The system is one of the things that makes our cars special. The system makes the car better and faster to drive. Most of the advice to remove comes from people who are repeating what someone else repeats. Not necessarily Trav, but most don't know what they are talking about.

You are not driving this car on the track, I assume or you would have told us. You will be driving this car in the real world and in the real world the system will make you faster, smoother and safer. my 90 'Vert has 146,000 miles and the DTSS works fantastic. I wouldn't want to dirve the car without it and yes, I know how to drive on the track.

Last thing, get a really good alignment from a real alignment shop. Not from a tire store or an alignment chain. The car may need some camber adjusters to correct for the drop. You are spending good money on this suspension, you want it to work right and without a real alignment, it won't live up to it's potential. Not to mention that you may eat tires at a rapid rate and the cost of replacing decent tires all the time will pay for alot of camber adjustement.

Trav is rightg: You get this done and it will blow your mind.

Good luck

jack's right, you shouldn't remove DTSS just because people say it's "the cool thing to do". HOWEVER, if it's a known bad item or questionable or an unknown, then I would probably replace it regardless... In other words, IMO, I would only keep it if I knew it was in good shape. It's cheap insurance as far as I'm concerned and you'll save yourself the grief later if you have to go back and replace it anyway. At this point, I'm considering it a worn-out part and would rather replace it while everything is disassembled anyway... Jack may be the exception with a 146k working DTSS -- I honestly have no idea what kind of life to expect from it. Inspect it, see what kind of condition it's in. Do some searches on the topic and make your own conclusions about what you feel is best.

Alignment is a good point too from Jack -- DEFINITELY include an alignment from a quality shop in your budget. But that should be the last thing you do after everything else is installed/replaced.

what exactuallu is the dtss?

I recomend if it is a dd to just get the kybs. i did the full kyb swap and she is stiff enough if you are going to use it as a dd.

-go to summit racing for the kybs. they are like 420.00 for the whole set.

they are ordered and on their way

how many hours of labour can I expect for a reputable shop to tack on to the job for the bushing install?

And how many hours of labor is it to install a bushing set?

Also, regarding DTSS:

Is there any reasonable test to do to determine if your DTSS is failing to do its job or a hazard?
