help me my car starts and then dies

my car is a 87 non turbo 5 speed. it has a ankins engine and no emisions. it starts up and dies. if you gives it some gas as you start it , it will run till you let out. i need to get it started. the engine is 2 years old with no miles on it. please help chris.

sounds like a vacum leak double check everything.

there is only one vacumm line now for the fuel pressure reg. and its a new line. thanks thought. i think its not getting fuel. it has a new fuel pump on it. a waber or something like that.

Um, if you only have 1 vacume line on it, then that is your problem. You need to have ALL the vacume lines hooked up.

a Vacume leak is exactly what your problem sounds like.

Yea how do you have one line? It would atleast be the one to the pressure sensor.

There's more ways to have a vacuum leak then just a vacuum line. Gaskets between the TB and the UIM and between the UIM and LIM. Injector O rings and grommets can wear out and cause vac leaks. Start & die problems can usually be traced to faulty AFM connections or vacuum leaks.

the car has all emissions removed. so there is no rasts nest and running premix gas. im going to look at the air flow meter next.

when it starts how long does it run, just a few seconds? or does it die immediately

You still need the boost sensor hooked up.

Also check the AFM, it could be unplugged as well.
