help me identify this tank

What is the small white tank in the passenger side corner against the firewall for? The fluid looks like wiper fluid and is almost empty. If it is wiper fluid I need to remove it since my other tanks have been removed. My car is an 86 GXL MT.

that is your cold start assist tank and often idiots put washer fluid in them because they dont know that it is not the washer fluid bottle and I mean people that work at oil change places too. So watch it when you have your car at one of those places.

I don't take it to those places. What should be in it? I need to drain it and fill it up with something else right? It's almost empty.

just rip the thing out and plug the lines or remove and block off the injector as well. even mazda said to remove the system with one of their Technical service bulletins since it does literally nothing but add weight and clutter the engine bay.

By injectors, you mean the lines coming out of the tank that plug into the engine? Sorry, I haven't had time to look it over and I'm too lazy to go outside right now :P

Sorry, it's just weird that I've never had one of these in any other car of mine. I think I'll just take it out and clean it up and reinstall it. I won't fill it with fluid untill like November or so I guess.

SUB-ZERO Start Assist system. Do you have SUB ZERO temps in your region?

A bulletin from Mazda removed it years ago. See the TSB's.

This has been covered many, many times before. A quick look at the Factory Service Manual (FAQ) would have shown you what the tank is for, then a simple search would have provided all this information.

The FSM is the first place to look when you need technical information on the car.
